Meet our team

Gregg A. Tobey, PT, DPT, Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy

Dr. Tobey earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Evidence In Motion Institute of Health Professions.  Dr. Tobey is recognized by The American Board of Physical Therapists as an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) and has 39 years of experience. The OCS designation recognizes advanced clinical knowledge, experience, and skills.

Gregg is a father of four, and “Papi” to 7 grandchildren! In his free time, he enjoys investing time in his family, as well as exercising, hunting, and fishing. He is an active member of a local church, serving on the steering committee and teaching 4th and 5th grade boys Sunday school.  


Tayler Bogert, PT, DPT, EP-C

Tayler graduated from the University of Lynchburg Doctor of Physical Therapy program in 2023, after completing his undergraduate program at Liberty University in 2020.

His clinical internships have given him experience working with people of all ages. His experience ranges from general musculoskeletal pain/post-surgical treatment to working with amputees, and even a wide variety of balance-related issues such as vertigo.

Tayler enjoys being active through sports like pickleball or hiking with family and friends. Tayler is an aspiring runner and enjoys strength training as he prepares for upcoming Spartan race events in 2024.


Jennifer Walle, PT, DPT, CMTPT 

Jen earned a Bachelor of Science in human nutrition, foods, and exercise from Virginia Tech, a Master of Science and a Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Virginia Commonwealth University (formerly Medical College of Virginia). She also earned a dry needling certification in 2017. 

She has been working in physical therapy for over 20 years. She spent the first half of her career working in outpatient PT/sports medicine before taking a short hiatus to work in home health. She joined Powhatan Physical Therapy in 2021.  

She lives in Powhatan with her daughter, husband, and 3 Australian Shepherds. She was a gymnast and dancer early in life, now as an adult is working towards her black belt in taekwondo.  


Brenda Whiting, PT

Brenda graduated from Daemen University and is Neurodevelopmental Treatment Certified in the Treatment of Adult Hemiplegia. Before joining Powhatan Physical Therapy, she worked in inpatient rehab and was the Clinical Coordinator of Student Education at HealthSouth RHV. She now divides her time between Powhatan Physical Therapy and home health physical therapy.

Brenda has been happily married to her best friend for 24 years. She’s a proud mother of two amazing boys — Cole, a freshman at Virginia Tech studying aerospace engineering, and Jesse, a junior at Powhatan High School, also a gifted pianist, filmmaker, and a black belt in Senshi Do Martial Arts.

One of her life mottos is “Life is short — enjoy the ride, you only get one.”


E. Danielle Smith, LPTA

​Dani joined the Powhatan Physical Therapy team in 2001. She earned an Associate's Degree in physical therapy from Brightpoint Community College (formerly John Tyler Community College). She has continued her training in sports physical therapy, building strength, and addressing pain from the ground up.

​Dani was born and raised in Powhatan county where she still lives with her husband and three children. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, camping, church teaching, and coaching her daughter’s soccer team. Dani loves helping the people in her community feel their best.


Kim Bidwell, PTA 

Kim earned her Associate's Degree in physical therapy from Brightpoint Community College (formerly John Tyler Community College) in 2000 and has continued her training in joint replacement rehab, therapeutic exercise for older adults and fall risk assessment.  

Kim worked at Powhatan Physical Therapy from 2004 –2015, while living in Powhatan. After moving to Farmville with her husband and working several years in home health, Kim had the opportunity to return to Powhatan Physical Therapy to resume her love of orthopedics and working with a wonderful team.  

She lives in Farmville with her husband and enjoys taking care of their small farm. She enjoys riding horses, mountain biking and helping patients get back to life.  


Sarah Braun, PT Tech

Sarah joined Powhatan Physical Therapy in August of 2023 and is excited to contribute her skills and dedication to our community's well-being. She also sits on the Board of Directors for RVAgriculture, which runs several markets in the Richmond Metro Area.

Sarah is a dedicated mom to two wonderful kids, Wilson and Zinnia. In 2021, she decided to make Powhatan her home, where she embraced the serenity of rural living. Along with her commitment to family, her love for music, camping, and hiking takes her on exciting outdoor adventures. Two lucky rescue dogs are her constant companions on these journeys. In 2022, her family expanded when she added a delightful flock of chickens to her life. She enjoys spending time volunteering at local farmer's markets.


Jazmine Lopez, PT Tech

Jazmine worked as a Surgical Technician in a community hospital in Orange County, California from 2012-2014. A move to Tennessee afforded her time to be a stay-at-home mom to raise her two boys, Cruz and Roman. After moving to Powhatan she wanted to get back into the workforce part-time. She began working for Gregg at Powhatan Physical Therapy as a tech, in July 2021. She has thoroughly enjoyed working there with an amazing group of people and patients.

In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family. She stays busy with her boys’ year-round sports, her two dogs, and her chickens!
